About This Spot

Stepping into Night Oat on Gladstone Avenue feels a bit like discovering a warmly lit hideaway nestled between familiar neighborhoods. The space carries an inviting hush punctuated by soulful live music that threads through the room with an easy intimacy. Brick walls and cozy lighting frame an atmosphere where time slows just enough to sink into good conversation, lingering drinks, and the gentle hum of people sharing the night.

Night Oat wears many hats gracefully: a cafe by afternoon, a small plates restaurant as evening unfolds, and seamlessly a cocktail and wine bar that takes center stage alongside thoughtful live performances. Its pace is unpretentious yet deliberate, encouraging guests to savor moments rather than rush through them. Whether you’re perched at the bar or settled into a corner seat, the environment feels like an extension of a close friend’s living room—comfortable, familiar, but with a refined edge.

The menu here doesn't aim for extravagance but speaks to a particular kind of savory elegance. Small plates arrive with care, perfect for sharing or accompanying a thoughtfully crafted cocktail. Scotch enthusiasts will find themselves intrigued by flights showcasing rare and nuanced expressions, while those with a lighter touch can enjoy inventive cocktails that playfully spin with the distinctive flavors of single malt whisky. The wine list and select local beers complete a well-rounded drinking experience that values quality and discovery.

Live music is woven into the fabric of Night Oat’s identity, offering a rich and textured soundtrack to the evening. Performances roam across genres, grounded in jazz but never confined by it, bringing a sense of spontaneity and warmth that resonates with the venue’s intimate setting. The sound holds its clarity and depth, thanks in part to the thoughtful acoustics provided by exposed brick and inviting design choices.

What truly sets Night Oat apart is the feeling of being quietly welcomed—whether you come as part of a lively group, a family with little ones, or on your own to savor a night out at the bar. It’s a place where the staff’s genuine care and knowledge gently steer your experience without fuss or rush, and where the balance between sophistication and comfort makes every visit feel like the start of something memorable.

I'm not a scotch drinker, but it's a nice place for a night out. Lovely live music, and a fun atmosphere. Servers seems a bit busy and preoccupied. Plenty of drink options (scotch primarily, but also beer, wine, non-alcoholic) but definitely on the fancier (pricier) end. Better for small sharing plate with a drink than a full dinner (small portions).

GREAT PLACE!! We went there with family including my 1 year old son and they were wonderful to make sure we had space for the stroller and let him play on the stage. The food was fantastic, especially the mushroom on toast dish....we ended up ordering a second one!! And of course the scotch! I never knew scotch was so versatile! Make a reservation now!

Small intimate venue for live music. Sound was surprisingly good given the brick wall interior. Evening food menu was limited but tasty. Drinks were on the expensive side.

This place is a hidden gem! It is tucked away between two neighborhoods. I read the reviews and decided to try it out on a Saturday night. It is amazing!! The vibe is warm and cozy. The staff are amazing and so knowledgeable. The live music was stellar! It was jazz, but they played modern and other music. I came alone and was so comfortable at the bar. The whole place was so warm and inviting! I was impressed that they even had a non alcoholic menu. Next time I’ll have to try the food. I will definitely come back!! Thank you!

There is everything to love at the Night Oat. From the relaxing atmosphere to the free spirit drinks or beers. The music shows are fantastic!

Went on a Friday night the hear the Brian An Jazz Quartet. Fabulous music, great service. Had hot and cold drinks and one of their very large and tasty cookies. Definitely recommend

Such a chill and swanky vibe! Literally a hole in the wall and not what I was expecting but in a great way! Definitely lives up to its chill lounge jazz atmosphere. Lots of options for scotch and drinks. Need a night cap— this is now my go to spot! Missed the live jazz band but will definitely be back. Worth the visit!
